There are plenty of things you’ll experience as a new parent and think “out of all of the advice given, why did nobody tell me this?!” I’m sure there are lots of reasons – they thought it was a no-brainer, they haven’t had this eureka moment themselves, they actually did tell you and your pregnancy brain forgot, or heck, they have a different opinion. One of the many things I wish I had known prior to having my Junebug is the gloriousness that is the backpack diaper bag! Holy cow, why do they even make other kinds of diaper bags?? After schlepping my cute but big over-the-shoulder diaper bag I decided to just use a backpack that we have as a replacement because it’s just so much easier to be hands free. That’s worked for awhile but I really want a legit diaper bag instead of a cavernous backpack with not enough sections/pockets for all of the random baby things you need. I did a little research for cheap but cute backpack diaper bags and voila! Here ya go in case you too want to go the backpack route:
Apparently my idea of a cute diaper bag is one that is black, grey, or tan. Probably because the more colorful diaper bags just scream “I’m a diaper bag!” and I’d rather be more circumspect. The top two are from the very popular diaper bag brand Skip Hop. I like the black one for folks who like the quilted black leather bag type look. The grey option is great for those who’d rather have a more unobtrusive bag. For a similar style to the grey Skip Hop there is the Lekebaby diaper backpack. I really like how this bag is divided up and where the different compartments are – seems like even an unorganized gal like myself could maintain some sort of controlled chaos with this one (I almost pulled the trigger on this one). The fella next to it is actually made by Jeep, yep, you read it right. A friend of mine has this one and highly recommends it. The grey and black Eddie Bauer one looks similar to the Jeep bag in terms of compartment placement. Lastly, there’s the tan guy by Becko (this is the one I think I’m going to go with). All of these are under $70 and all have lots of little pockets, zipped areas, and pouches. So really, it’s just a matter of which one you think is prettiest!
