You guys, this is the easiest slow cooker recipe ever! I love the dump ’em and forget ’em type of slow cooker recipes. This is one of those, it only has three ingredients, and yet it’s packed with flavor! I love making this during football season as it can easily feed a crowd – perfect for nachos or a taco bar. If you want it for a smaller meal and don’t want to deal with too many leftovers, use a smaller amount of meat (maybe closer to 2 lbs if you can find it). Alright, here is the super easy yet tasty recipe:
- Pork butt or pork shoulder (I’ve used both) – it can be any size but around 4-6 lbs is what I typically buy.
- Taco seasoning packet
- 7 oz. can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
Are you ready for this easiness? You simply put the pork in your slow cooker, rub it with taco seasoning, empty the can of chipotles on top of the pork, set the crock pot on low and then let it sit for at least 8 hours. That’s it! Once it’s done, use the meat for tacos, nachos, spicy sandwiches – whatever you want. This time I made nachos with some guacamole, shredded cheese, bean dip, pico de gallo, and of course this delicious pork.
People always ask for this recipe after tasting it – it’s that yummy! Whenever I tell them how to make this, people are surprised that no liquids are added. Trust me, it’s not needed. Juices will pull from the meat itself and it will be plenty moist and tender – I promise. For those that are sensitive to spice, I would only use half of the can of chipotles. I can handle about medium spiciness and the full can is just fine for me. Try this and let me know what you think! For some more awesome crock pot recipes – checkout this blogger roundup here!
